Our Pastor

Pastor Hiller Payne was born and raised in Mangham, Louisiana and is the eldest of nine children. He graduated from Richwood High School in Monroe, Louisiana; where he resided until enlisting in the United States Army. He retired from the Army in 1988, as Sergeant First Class, after serving 20 plus years of active military service.

   Rev. Payne, and his wife Georgia of 21 years, live in Marysville, Washington. They have three adult children, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of godchildren.

     Rev. Payne has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington,  and a Graduate of Theology Diploma from International Seminary in Orlando, Florida. Rev. Payne served as Administrator, and Teacher of the Snohomish County Satellite Division of International Seminary’s “Be Successful in Your Ministry” from 2017-2021. He continues his study of the Bible with “Bible Study Fellowship” (BSF), a weekly international Bible Study Program headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.

     Rev. Payne retired from Community Transit of Everett, Washington in 2016 after 21 years. During his career at Community Transit he worked in Operations, Training, Risk Management, and Human Resources.

     Rev. Payne received his calling into the ministry, and became a licensed minister in 2003.  He became an ordained Minister of the Gospel in 2004. He and his wife joined the Second Baptist Church family in 2009. Rev. Payne has served faithfully in numerous positions including as Associate Minister, Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee Committee member, Men’s Ministry, Helping Hands Mission Ministry as the Nursing Home Ministry Director, and in other community outreach ministries and fund raising.

     Rev. Payne accepted the call to pastor Second Baptist Church of Everett, Washington in May 2022. He is a life-long learner and proclaimer of God’s Word, and has dedicated his life to Christian service in the Kingdom of God.
